Baptism, also commonly called Christening in relation to infants, is available to anyone living in the Parish who requests it for themselves or their children. Baptism marks our entry into the family of the Church; and involves promises made by the person being baptised or by their parents and god-parents on their behalf. Therefore baptism involves exploration and preparation for candidates, parents and god-parents prior to the event; and takes place once a month during our main service, with no more than two families bringing their children to be baptised during any one service. For more about baptism, visit the Church of England website, here.

If you live within the Parish, or have a legally-recognised ‘qualifying connection’ to the church, you may be able to have your wedding here. The first thing to do is have a conversation with one of the clergy. As you prepare for the big day, we want to help and support you, both in planning the day itself and also in thinking through issues relating to marriage. For more about weddings in church, visit the Church of England’s dedicated Weddings website, here.
