St Peter’s Church

Welcome! We are glad you are here.

St Peter’s Church “Sharing the love of Jesus in word and deed”

St Peter’s Birkdale, is a place where all are welcome.

We are an Anglican church at the heart of Birkdale Village

We exist to love and honour God through faith in His Son and by the power of His Spirit.

We long to see everyone feel equipped and able to play their part in fulfilling God’s mission to our world.

Whether you are looking to join our church family on a regular basis, or are enquiring about becoming part of the church for a special event, such as a wedding or a baptism, these pages should give you all that you need to know.

  • St Peter’s was concecrated in 1871 and has been an integral part of the community of Birkdale for over 150 years.

Our quiet garden opened in 2006 and is a place for quiet contemplation and prayer.

Every Sunday we meet at 11.15am for a family-friendly worship service. We sing songs, both old and new, hear God’s word read from the bible and pray for the community and the world.

We aim to live generously, out of thankfulness for all God has provided. This year we intend to give at least 10% of our income to our mission partners.

More locally our parish centre provides a useful community asset available to a variety of local organisations.

We try not to be complacent, continually seeking fresh ways to connect with our community and make ourselves and the vital message of God’s unchanging love and forgiveness accessible and available to all.

  • Everything we do at St Peter’s Birkdale is only possible because of your generosity, supporting mission both in the parish and beyond. We aim to provide a safe and welcoming place for worship, ministry and community, and for the occasions that are important to you and your family, such as weddings, baptisms and funerals.
