About Us

As part of the Church of England, within the Anglican communion and the wider body of Christ we are:

Rooted in Worship, Prayer and Scripture

We believe that all we do is rooted in what is expressed in our Worship, discerned through Prayer and grounded in Scripture.

Seeking the Kingdom,

We seek God’s Kingdom first, we want to see everyone engaging with God’s kingdom and the Good News of Jesus.

Serving Together,

We serve one another in faith, sharing our resources and engaging with other churches in the area.

Growing Faith,

We want to encourage people, of all ages, to explore faith for themselves, to discover meaning in their life, and purpose in their relationships.

Loving Birkdale

We are situated at either end of Birkdale village, and we want to show God’s love and care to the whole community. Including those on the edge, the lonely and the marginalised. All are welcome.

The two churches have a rich history and, as we look to the future of God’s church here, we are excited for where He is leading us.

Both churches share a vicar - Rev Sam Johnson

St James’ and St Peter’s Birkdale take our duty and obligation to protect all extremely seriously.

We have adopted the national Church of England's robust procedures and guidelines.
